- The other key thing to consider at this point is the strength of the vibrations. Too little and you’ll enjoy the experience but ultimately be left wandering if it isn’t a little overrated. Too much and you’ll feel overwhelmed, forcing you to reach for that off button. Again though there is no “one size fits all” solution, different people react to different intensities so we recommend you buy a variable or multi speed vibrator. Experiment and find out what works for you!
- What should my first vibe be made from? In short whatever you fancy. Inflexible plastic vibes carry the full power of the vibrators where as those made from softer materials such as PVC jelly or silicone may tone them down slightly but be more comfortable to use. In terms of sensation, it’s more important to buy a multi-speed vibe where you can vary the intensity.
- If your budget can stretch that little bit further, the only other thing to consider is where the actual vibrating unit is situated within the toy. For example, in most budget torpedo vibes the unit is in the base located very near the control which means the vibrations have to travel all the way down the shaft to reach the tip. This ultimately will lessen the intensity. On the other hand some vibes, such as the Lucid Dream series, have the bullet right in the tip so you know it’s going to hit the spot.

- Why can’t I have one of those rabbit vibrators everybody talks about? Well of course you can and as you’d expect we stock a huge range. Be warned though, the reason rabbits have been so successful is they are designed to stimulate a lot of areas at any one time and this can be overwhelming at first. If you do decide to jump straight in make sure you go for a model where the shaft and clitoral stimulator are controlled separately, and definitely make sure both functions are multi-speed. We recommend the Mantric Bedroom Bunny or Bumpy Bunny. Both are really easy to control so you can start low and build up as you get more used to things.
